With no dine-in measures in effect in Singapore, Chew Chor Meng could not have picked a better time to launch his new online F&B venture. Called Solid Lu, the biz sells traditional Chinese braised meat like duck wings, pork belly, and pig’s trotter.
Like the actor’s other businesses, Famous Pao Fan and the now-defunct The Famous Zhou, it has a wittier Chinese moniker called Jing Lu Men, which sounds like Jing Wu Men, the Chinese name of Bruce Lee’s hit martial arts film Fist Of Fury. Chor Meng, 52, also co-owns a mookata chain 888 Mookata with actor and Love 972 DJ Dennis Chew, though its four outlets are currently closed due to the dine-in ban (Thai barbecue doesn’t fare well via takeaway).
Chor Meng declined to reveal more when we contacted him — like who’s cooking the food and from where — only saying his website wasn't ready at the moment. Here’s what we know so far.
