Atas Ondeh Ondeh In Roketto x Kki Collab, Plus Scallop Herh Keow & Orh Luak Pasta

We’ve seen ondeh ondeh in numerous guises — mostly as chiffon cakes, sometimes as cupcakes, churros, ice creams and even cinnamon rolls. Now we can add to that Japanese mousse cake. Well, technically it’s not a cake but an entremet (fancy French layered dessert) made by none other than Kenneth Seah, the pastry maestro behind Japanese-inspired bakery Kki Sweets, which closed its doors in 2016 (more on that later). For the next two weeks, Kenneth will be peddling his version of ondeh ondeh and two other special desserts as part of a Roketto x Kki collaboration.

If you haven’t heard, Roketto is mod Sin chef Willin Low’s Singapore-inspired pop-up izakaya. By day, his restaurant Relish at Frasers Tower serves hearty mains like burgers and pastas. By night, it turns into Roketto Izakaya, where Willin serves casual versions of dishes from his well-loved restaurant Wild Rocket, which he closed last October. It’s also a nod to his pop-up eatery of the same name in a Niseko ski resort.
