Paul Wong Will Not Have Athena Chu as Guest Performer

(Taipei March 11, 2016) After 2 years’ absence, Paul Wong returned to announce his concert "Paul Wong 2016 Live in Taipei" scheduled at the Taipei International Convention Center on April 30. With his guest performers undisclosed, Paul said his fellow members of the band "Beyond" might not be included, and his wife Athena Chu would not be taken into consideration. He admitted, "I’m afraid that she might be easy to invite but hard to dismiss." Therefore she would stay behind and helped him. Paul praised Athena and said she was always the fist in his heart. He shared his thoughts on marriage, e.g. sweet talks could never be too much. He said, "I’m not a romantic person but I always remember to buy flowers. Nobody dislikes flowers." When in Hong Kong, he insisted on enjoying the happy time out with Athena in a sports car and left their daughter at home.

Bugis Street Level 2 may no longer feel quite as much like a ghost town. Months after we visited the upper floor following reports of shuttered shops and sparse foot traffic, we returned on a Friday afternoon to see whether things had changed. This time, Level 2 had noticeably more people around, from teenagers and tourists to older shoppers. More importantly, shoppers were actually interacting with the stalls, trying things on and making purchases, rather than simply browsing and walking through. There are still plenty of shuttered units, and Level 2 remains much quieter than the ever-busy ground floor, but the atmosphere felt noticeably livelier during our visit. Bugis Street is also hosting its “Somewhere @ Bugis Street” weekend events as part of its ongoing efforts to bring more activity to the area.
