More evidence suggesting Hawick Lau’s affair revealed
In a classic case of he-said, she-said, netizens have raised their doubts about Hawick’s fidelity
A fresh wave of allegations that Hawick Lau cheated on his wife, Yang Mi, have emerged in recent days. The initial report by a Chinese entertainment programme, I Am Paparazzi, claimed that he cheated on his actress wife with co-star Angel Wang (also known as Wang Ou) after working with her on two dramas.
These claims were swiftly denied by the actor, whose personal studio also announced that they would take strong legal action against rumour mongers. Yang Mi, speaking up for her husband, declared that she will “always believe in Hawick”.
In response to their statements, I Am Paparazzi released a video and additional reports to substantiate their claims that Hawick and Angel are having an affair. In the video, the pair was seen returning to her hotel room after a day of filming. Staff members, who they identified as her assistants, were also seen sending dinner to the room.
The assistants were spotted leaving the room 10 minutes later but Hawick remained in Angel’s room for three hours before returning to his room in the wee hours of the night. In total, the pair is said to have spent extended periods of time in her room on three separate occasions.
Speaking up about the video, a Weibo user claiming to be one of the staff members captured on video, stressed that she is not Angel’s assistant and was discussing the script together with other cast and crew members. Questioning why the other staff members were not edited into the footage, she questioned their motives and asked the programme not to smear the good name of the production team.
Others have also spoken up about the issue, with some claiming that the production team are trying to help Angel and Hawick hide their wrongdoings, stressing that the biggest victim in this entire fiasco is Yang Mi, who earlier declared her trust in her husband.
Yang Mi and Hawick tied the knot in January 2014 and have a daughter, nicknamed Xiao Nuo Mi, together.
