Celebrity couple Michelle Chen and Chen Xiao quietly registered their marriage this week, on Chen Xiao’s birthday.

Shortly after a netizen uploaded pictures of the couple at a marriage registration office in Chen Xiao’s hometown of Anhui, China, the lovebirds took to their individual Weibo accounts to share the happy occasion.

Michelle also took the opportunity to reveal that she was three months pregnant, confirming the earlier rumours of a shotgun wedding.

Recently, the 32-year-old was spotted in China filming for her new drama serial, City Still Believes in Love.

In the pictures uploaded by fans, Michelle can be seen clad in a pair of grey shorts and a white shirt, with her baby bump on full display.

While Michelle had to wear a pair of platform shoes for filming, the netizen noted that once filming had ended, Michelle immediately changed into a pair of flat shoes, taking great pains to ensure the safety of her unborn child.

Michelle Chen and Chen Xiao first met while filming the drama, The Romance of the Condor Heroes in 2014. After dating for seven months, Chen Xiao popped the question in Paris at the end of 2015. During Chinese New Year this year, the couple travelled to meet their respective in-laws.

There are still plenty of shuttered units, and Level 2 remains much quieter than the ever-busy ground floor, but the atmosphere felt noticeably livelier during our visit. Bugis Street is also hosting its “Somewhere @ Bugis Street” weekend events as part of its ongoing efforts to bring more activity to the area.
