Kai Ko congratulates Elva Hsiao on her new relationship

Taiwanese actor Kai Ko did not shy away from questions regarding the new relationship of his ex-girlfriend, Taiwanese singer Elva Hsiao, during the press conference of his new movie, The Road to Mandalay, yesterday. The actor even told reporters to “ask me straightforwardly”.

The 25-year-old dated Elva for two years before breaking up in 2014. Since then, Kai has been rumoured to be dating Taiwanese singer Tia Li, and more recently, heiress Laurinda Ho. Elva also announced her relationship with Singaporean businessman Elroy Cheo shortly after breaking up with Kai, though they announced their split early this year.

The 37-year-old singer recently confirmed her relationship with American-Taiwanese student Michael Chen, who is 13 years younger than her. The 24-year-old is also said to be an exceptionally good golf player who has represented Taiwan in the World University Golf Championships, even winning a bronze medal.

When asked about Elva’s new relationship, Kai smiled and gave his blessings to the couple. He also admitted that he had seen the news reports about the couple in Thailand on his phone during a break in filming. The actor even asked the reporters, “didn’t they only get pictures of Elva and the guy’s back views,” showing how much he knew about the reports.

Kai also laughingly brushed off the assumption that he still monitors news regarding Elva, and said that he “monitors all the entertainment news”. He then revealed that they still wish each other well whenever there’s a birthday or special occasion when asked if he still keeps in contact with Elva.

The actor also shared that he was not affected by the news at all, and said jokingly, “It’s been so long, what kind of feelings can I still have?”, showing his mature side.
