Jolin Tsai’s plan to prevent ticket scalping backfires

Jolin Tsai’s Ugly Beauty world tour concert is set to take place at the Kaohsiung Arena from May 15 to 17 next year, and tickets went on sale last Sunday (Dec 15).

In order to prevent scalpers from getting their hands on tickets and reselling them at higher prices, customers had to answer a question correctly before they were allowed to make a purchase on the site.

However, the question turned out to be too difficult, even for fans. During her appearance at a bank’s press conference yesterday (Dec 17), the 39-year-old singer took the opportunity to apologise, and admitted that even she did not know the correct answer.

“I was on a plane when ticketing started, so I only managed to have a look at the question after I landed,” she explained. “It really is tough! Even I did not know the exact number of backup dancers for ‘Life Sucks’. We deserve to be scolded.”

When the topic turned to finances, Jolin shared that she is very satisfied with her income, and that she feels very blessed to be able to do what she loves without worrying about money. That said, she stressed on the importance of proper financial management, before admitting that one of her most impulsive purchases was a car.
