Hawick Lau denies cheating on Yang Mi

Several rumours of the pair’s marriage being on the rocks have emerged since tying the knot two years ago

Hawick Lau denies cheating on Yang Mi

Yang Mi and Hawick Lau tied the knot in January 2014 and have been plagued with numerous rounds of rumours of their marriage being on the rocks ever since. The latest wave of allegations claim that Hawick cheated on his wife with co-star Angel Wang (also known as Wang Ou), which he has swiftly denied.

Hawick and Angel first worked together on upcoming drama Full Love in July this year and were spotted watching the movie Foolish Plans together. In addition, Angel’s attentiveness towards him when they were out for group meals roused suspicion that the two are more than just colleagues.

The pair reunited in Xinjiang, China for another drama, The Legend of Jade Sword, recently. While filming, the cast and crew celebrated Hawick’s birthday, which falls on October 13, in Angel’s hotel room.

Reports claim that Hawick returned to Angel’s room the next night, this time alone, and remained there for about four hours before returning to his own room. The 42-year-old updated his personal Weibo account yesterday, responding to the rumours.

“I just returned from the filming site, where mobile reception is poor and saw a ridiculous thing. It’s laughable and required quite a bit of analytical skills (to come up with). I’m sorry to tell you that it’s not the truth. It’s rare to see so many concerned people worry about this and I never thought that (what happened) would cause such a misunderstanding. I can only say that when I’m going through the script (with my co-stars) in future, I’ll ensure that I don’t do it at night and not in the room. After going through this experience, I thank you for the lesson well learned,” he clarified.

Shortly after, his personal studio posted a lawyer’s letter and declared that they would take legal action against media outlets that concocted the lies. Yang Mi stepped forward to defend her husband at a Cosmopolitan event yesterday, after the rumours emerged, stating, “I know that everyone is very concerned about how I feel right now and I thank you for it. Regardless, I’ll always believe in Hawick.”

Yang Mi and Hawick have a daughter, nicknamed Xiao Nuo Mi, together but are rarely seen out together, which has led to rumours that they are in a loveless marriage. The pair has repeatedly denied these allegations and assured that they are on good terms.
