All in good fun: the two actresses publicly trade barbs and play up their love-hate relationship for each other

Dee Hsu and Lin Chi-ling have been working on the same film, Eat & Love, which is Kevin Tsai’s directorial debut project, since July but both actresses are not close to each other. They’d even ignore the existence of the other party on set, judging by pictures of them at work which showed the two actresses standing far apart from each other, according to Taiwan media reports.

Yesterday morning, Chi-ling posted a selfie pointing at a sign posted on the door of Dee’s personal restroom on her Weibo with the caption “Good morning! Can I come in?” in which Dee replied: “Come in and I’ll give you a flying kick”. The banter ended with Chi-ling responding with a picture of her holding a ‘flying kick’ near her face, unamused.

It was also said that Dee’s elder sister Barbie Hsu and fellow Taiwanese celebrities and close friends Makiyo, Christine Fan and Pace Wu turned up on set to support Dee. They sponsored a breakfast truck for the crew members on set, completed with napkins that had Dee’s picture printed on it with the note: “We will support you forever, Dee!”

Comparing the food provided by her friends to Chi-ling’s two containers of coffee for the crew, Dee sarcastically commented: “What, only two [containers]? I hope she can make some friends with that”.

Dee’s spiteful and playful remarks have sparked off speculations that the two actresses share a hostile relationship. However, many believe that the former host of Here Comes Kangxi is just doing it for show, after her husband admitted to liking Chi-ling for her graceful demeanour and good looks.
