Chen Xiao, Michelle Chen confirmed to be dating
Condor Heroes star’s rumoured relationship with actress Zhao Liying makes Michelle the third party
Taiwanese actress Michelle Chen and Chinese actor Chen Xiao, the leads from the Chinese drama series The Romance of the Condor Heroes, have been confirmed to be dating by their management agencies, according to Taiwan media.
Michelle, who became famous through her role in the hit Taiwan film You Are the Apple of My Eye, spent her birthday this June 1 with Chen Xiao, who appeared outside her hotel in Shanghai though he was supposed to be filming in Tianjin, China.
The pair had a low-key outing, with frequent interactions on Weibo, and even stayed overnight in the same hotel. In response, Michelle’s manager commented, “I’m happy for Michelle, I wish them well. I hope everyone will do the same and be happy for her.”
Chen Xiao’s manager confirmed that the pair had indeed been together, but the exact details of their date were unclear to the management agency.
Before Chen Xiao and Michelle got together, the actor was romantically linked to Zhao Liying after they co-starred in the 2013 Chinese comedy television series Legend of Lu Zhen. The two became one of the most searched names that season.
Online media sources say Chen Xiao and Liying had split last September, to which Michelle’s management agency commented, “People are all single when they’re dating!”, debunking rumours of Michelle’s involvement as a third party.
