Chen Xiao, Michelle Chen are married

Chinese actor Chen Xiao and Taiwanese actress Michelle Chen are mired in preparations for their big day, with 14 days to go before they kick off their wedding celebrations.

However, it seems like the couple managed to take time out of their busy schedules to register their marriage in China today, on Chen Xiao's birthday. This morning, a netizen posted pictures of the couple at a marriage registration office in China, along with their witnesses.

The couple, who first met on the set of the drama The Romance of the Condor Heroes, also shared their love for each other in an interview recently.

Michelle revealed her first impression of Chen Xiao, sharing that the first time she laid eyes on him, he “was respectful, but looked a little shy, with his cap pulled down [to cover his face]”. The 32-year-old also divulged that it was “enjoyable to film with Chen Xiao, as he is quite the jokester once he’s familiar with you”, and that “there’s nothing that we can’t talk about”.

The actress also shared that she used to be very afraid of getting married just for the sake of it, but all her fear were washed away once she met Chen Xiao, as she felt that he was someone who is worth marrying.

Then, Chen Xiao also confessed his love for Michelle, revealing that the couple had experienced each other’s bad habits while they were filming, thus they “can be at ease with each other now, as we’ve all seen our bad sides before we got together.”

Chen Xiao proposed to Michelle at the end of 2015 in Paris, France after dating for seven months. During Chinese New Year this year, the couple travelled to meet their respective in-laws, and later announced that they were set to wed in July this year, with a wedding ceremony on July 19 in Beijing, China, followed by a banquet in Taipei, Taiwan on July 21.
