Malaysian Singer Namewee’s YouTube Channel Allegedly Hacked By Russians; He Says He Knew “This Day Would Come”

Namewee, who is currently in London, posted a clip on Facebook on Tuesday (Apr 5), slamming the hackers, whom he suspects are Russians, and lamented that 13 years of hard work has been lost.

“My YouTube channel has been hacked by someone from Russia. These are Russian words so I guess it’s someone from Russia. I have been managing the Namewee YouTube channel for 13 years, it’s been a very long journey, but now everything is gone,” he said.

"I don't care who you are. Russian guy, listen to me, there is only one thing I want to tell you," and then he broke out in Russian language and swore: "We support Ukraine, f*** you. You take the plane to London tomorrow. [I am in] Waterloo.”

Namewee later shared another post saying that he was “not very shocked” that the channel had been hacked, and that he has been preparing for this day for years.

“It's not that I don't value the hard work that I have done these past 13 years, it’s just that I had anticipated that this day would come many years ago… Sooner or later, I would have to pay for what I have done. I have really offended too many people over the years, and it took 13 years for this to happen... especially after the launch of ‘Fragile’ last year,” he said, referring to the Mandarin ballad, which is deemed to have offended the Chinese.

He added that though many “ugly” people laughed at his misery, he also received a lot of encouragement and help from netizens.

“Here I would like to thank these kind people. I often say that only when people fall will they see the real good and evil in this world and this time it is even clearer,” he said.
