HK Actor Kwong Wa, Who Quit Showbiz To Become An Insurance Agent, Is Making His Comeback

Veteran Hongkong actor Kwong Wa, 59, is best known for playing historical characters in hit TVB dramas in the late ‘90s and early noughties.
He was Tang Sanzang in the station's 1996 adaptation of Journey to the West, and reached the peak of his fame playing the Yongzheng Emperor in the 2003's super popular The King of Yesterday and Tomorrow.
However, after the 2010 drama Criminal Investigation, the actor soon retired from showbiz to become an insurance agent.
At that time, Kwong Wa revealed that long-term strain had led to a really bad waist injury.
He also went on to say that he was under a lot of stress as he had very high expectations of himself, and that he has no plans to ever return to showbiz.
He's a Douyin star now
Thankfully, it appears that time away from the spotlight has been good to the actor, and he’s now ready to make his big comeback.
Kwong Wa, like many other veteran actors, is now on Douyin, and recently shared more about his plans to return to showbiz during a short three-minute live stream.
Looking good there
Kwong Wa let on that while he needs more time before he can make an acting comeback, for now, he is "in contact" with a Chinese company.
He plans to test the waters first by appearing on live streams, where he will presumably be hawking goods to viewers.
Netizens were very enthused to hear that Kwong Wa has plans to return to the spotlight, with many remarking that he looks “as good as ever” and that he resembles Heavenly King Andy Lau.
