Veteran Hongkong actor Kwong Wa, 59, is best known for playing historical characters in hit TVB dramas in the late ‘90s and early noughties.

He was Tang Sanzang in the station's 1996 adaptation of Journey to the West, and reached the peak of his fame playing the Yongzheng Emperor in the 2003's super popular The King of Yesterday and Tomorrow.

However, after the 2010 drama Criminal Investigation, the actor soon retired from showbiz to become an insurance agent.

At that time, Kwong Wa revealed that long-term strain had led to a really bad waist injury.

He also went on to say that he was under a lot of stress as he had very high expectations of himself, and that he has no plans to ever return to showbiz.
