A Swimsuit Shoot At 40: Zoe Tay’s Hottest Shoot Ever

“Okay, lah considering my last swimsuit spread was in 2006. After all these years [as a model and actress], I’m still not used to doing swimsuit shoots. I don’t have that great a body. Some of these bikinis are so skimpy, and there are no pockets to put my hands in! I don’t know what to do with my hands.”

“8 DAYS is brave to photograph me, a 40-year-old woman, for a bikini story! (Laughs) That really gives me confidence.”

"Somehow, it’s easier to shed the weight this time. I remember after I gave birth to Brayden, my stomach was so ‘loose’. See already also feel a bit depressed. (Laughs) Luckily, it’s not so bad with Ashton."

“I’m not trying to prove anything, or show women over 40 that they have to be a certain way. I mean, I am interested in keeping in shape. Thanks to this shoot, I had more motivation. Whether people want to say good or bad things is beyond my control. My only concern is to do my best for the shoot. I don’t want to think so much, lah.”

The shoot was supposed to happen in the Maldives. But five days before departure, it fell apart due to logistical complications. Thankfully, Zoe is not one to kick up a ruckus about the relocation of the shoot. “It’s okaaaaaay. Don’t worry, there’ll be another time [for Maldives],” she said. And judging from this pics, guess it all worked out more than fine right?

Here’s what our stylist said about Zoe, who woke up at 4am on the day of the shoot to have her breakfast and express her milk for Ashton. “Despite the harsh conditions we put her through, Zoe never once complained. At our first location, she had to stand in a swamp. Next, she had to lie on rocks. There was no mattress to support her back, which she hurt recently. We were frightened for her when she wore those high heels and walked on stones. We stood around so we could catch her if she fell. The wind was very strong that day — fine sand was getting into her eyes, but she remained perfectly still in her poses. She didn’t even move an inch. Do you know how difficult that is?”
