The popular Pek Kio hawker stall rolls out another no-frills coffeeshop outlet near the Army Market.

Wah Kee Big Prawn Noodle Opens Third Outlet At Beach Road Kopitiam

After opening a swanky, air-conditioned branch at Esplanade last year, Wah Kee Big Prawn Noodle has gone back to its humble roots with its third outlet. Its newest stall, opening next month on April 3, is housed within a kopitiam near Army Market at Beach Road.

And good news, its prices will follow the original Pek Kio Market stall (read: expect to pay wallet-friendly hawker prices). A basic bowl of Prawn Noodles loaded with Wah Kee’s famed fat wild-caught sea prawns goes for $5, and there is no GST or service charge. And if you hold a Pioneer Generation card, you can get a basic bowl of prawn noodles at only $3.

What’s new at the Beach Road outlet: the crunchy Wah Kee Prawn Cracker, which you savour with Wah Kee’s house-made sambal. There is also a Bean Curd Skin Roll With Prawns, comprising plump crustaceans stuffed between sheets of fried beancurd skin.

Oh, and look out for a fourth outlet too, slated to open later this year in June. It will be another non-air conditioned, no-frills joint located at a HDB void deck shop in Alexandra Village. Watch this space.
