Wanna get special access to the best restaurants around the world? Local two Michelin-starred Restaurant André has a current waiting list of three months, but here’s a hack to get a table at their super in-demand dinner service on a weekend night and nibble on haute creations like a Black Cherry, Red Coral Capsule appetiser (which ‘explodes’ in your mouth).
Just be a UnionPay Platinum/Diamond credit cardholder, and enjoy the perk as part of its new U Dining Collection service. The entry requirement for the card is very palatable — you need to have a minimum annual income of $30,000 for the Platinum card.
Expect foodie privileges such as special menus, discounts of up to 20 per cent, and table visits from famous chefs. Restaurant André specially sets aside a table for two for the Saturday dinner service just for cardholders, first come first served, as well as a bottle of wine on the house for food pairing (so you don’t have to jostle with the rest of the scrum, just, um, your fellow cardholders).
There are over 80 notable restaurants participating worldwide, so you can enjoy the frills when you’re overseas, too. In Singapore, there are eight restaurants on the list, including sushi temple Shinji by Kanesaka and Morton’s The Steakhouse. The U Dining perks run till April 30, 2018.
