Check Out Shane Pow's New Restaurant, Mojo

Here’s a new celeb hangout where you can grab a bite and stargaze. Mojo’s co-owner is Ch 8 actor and first-time F&B towkay Shane Pow, 26. “I’ve always wanted a place where my friends can hang out with good food and great vibes,” he shares. He partnered with his chef pals who also own retro cafe Sin Lee Foods to set up shop. “Mojo is a catchy term for magic, and we all need some ‘magic’ to make something special, so we named our shop as such,” Shane explains.

Uni Soba

The eatery serves grilled protein bowls and juices during the day, and more sinful grub like yakitori, tapas and cocktails at night. Build your own bowl for lunch (from $14) with options like Tilapia Fillet, Wok Fried Broccoli and Turmeric Rice. Go wild in the evening and order from 12 types of yakitori such as Chicken Skin with Szechuan Salt ($4 each, minimum order of two). There are also sharing plates like a decadent Uni Soba ($38), cold noodles topped with sea urchin, ikura and sakura ebi.

Gomashio

Japanese-inspired cocktails include the sake-spiked Gomashio ($20) garnished with a strip of sesame and salt-topped cucumber. The head bartender here is an Operation Dagger and Maison Ikkoku alum. We're guessing 987FM jock Kimberly Wang, Shane's beau, will be a regular here.

Mojo, 204 Telok Ayer St, S068640. Tel: 6220-0723. Open daily except Sun. Mon-Fri 11am-midnight, Sat 5pm-midnight. Last orders at 11.30pm. www.mojosingapore.com
